NJEFP Board of Directors 2011-12
(updated 7/15/11)
The
New Jersey Education Foundation Partnership Inc. (NJEFP), a
private nonprofit organization, is dedicated to enhancing public
education in New Jersey by developing and empowering local
education foundations through education, training,
collaboration and advocacy.
NJEFP has nearly 70 local education foundations in New
Jersey as members. We are the State Affiliate of the
National
School Foundation Association (NSFA).
Founded in July 2007,
NJEFP is a
501(c)(3) charitable tax exempt organization.
To
accomplish our mission, NJEFP:
-
Promotes networking and collaboration among education
foundations.
-
Provides training and education to leaders and
volunteers in local school districts and education
foundations including best practices, fund development
and board development.
-

education foundations in New Jersey.

programs for students, and provide speakers at selected
meetings on topics important to local education foundations such as board
development, fundraising, management, and corporate partnerships.
Who benefits from
NJEFP?
The 1.4 million K-12 public education students in the State of
New Jersey.
Value of a K-12 Foundation
In today’s economic times, single source financing for
schools and districts is no longer an option. Many
economists, school leaders, and school finance researchers
are encouraging the establishment, growth, and development
of school foundations as a means of enhancing educational
opportunities for a school’s students.
K-12 education foundations are
known for achieving multiple benefits for the school or
district they support:
• Enhancing and improving communication between the school
or district and its respective community and alumni.
•
Offering opportunities for community members to become
involved with their local district through various volunteer
activities and events.
• Recognizing and encouraging academic excellence with
grants and gifts for classroom teachers and building
administrators.
•
Garnering a variety of resources and funds for the
enhancement of educational opportunities for the children in
the school district.
